Social Media Live Showcase
For this live social media event, my team and I partnered with Dr. Nicole Stewart to dive into the wild world of creator cultures, the mysteries of algorithmic visibility, and the ever-evolving rules of platform governance. We crafted an engaging, interactive show that blended expert insights with real-time audience participation. From breaking down how algorithms shape fame to unpacking the invisible forces behind platform policies, we made complex digital topics both accessible and entertaining. I contributed to content development, audience interaction planning, and the overall creative flow to deliver a show that was as informative as it was dynamic.
Social Media Discussion Posts
As part of a series of class assignments, I researched and analyzed current trends shaping today’s social media landscape. Each discussion post required me to investigate emerging topics, platform developments, and cultural shifts, then apply my own knowledge and examples from real-world events. Through these assignments, I demonstrated my ability to critically engage with how social media influences society, while also staying informed about fast-moving digital trends. As part of a collaborative project with the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, my team and I developed a pitch for an exclusive video interview with Marco Lopez, a future alumnus projected to graduate in Spring 2025. Our pitch focused on the value of featuring a student's journey as they approach graduation, highlighting their academic achievements, career aspirations, and the impact of their experience at Texas State University. We successfully secured the opportunity to interview Marco, allowing us to produce an engaging piece that not only showcased his story but also represented the School of Journalism and Mass Communication's commitment to celebrating its students and alumni. This project enhanced my skills in pitching, client collaboration, and video production.
